Charanjeet Chanderpal

Charanjeet Chanderpal, is a lawyer having a natural flair for social studies- law, economics, religion and performing arts. Charanjeet Chanderpal, has about 20 years of experience in law and related fields, out of which he has over 10 years of experience as a practicing lawyer. He has appeared over 62 times at the Supreme Court of India out of which 47 appearances have been pertaining to client matters and fifteen matters have been pertaining to his personal pursuits with the system. He appears mainly at the Bombay High Court. He has appeared in other High Courts too. He has an experience of almost all levels of judiciary, various government departments, Ministries, and also overall knowledge of law.

Acedemia

Chanderpal did his matriculation from the Bombay Scottish School, graduation in commerce from the H. R. College of Commerce and Economics at Mumbai, then studied under the auspices of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India- a profession which he gave up for law and law from the K. C. Law College at Mumbai.

Philosophy

Chanderpal, humbly states that in his experience spanning over almost twenty years now, with a decade as an advocate, there are hardly any laws which he has not dealt with and believes that a common man’s woes are equally important as the woes of the capitalist.

Track record

Chanderpal gives advice to very senior, responsible and elite people from various segments – builders, industrialists, banks, large sized hindu undivided families, etc and even individuals with family and daily problems. He is also on the panel of a nationalized Bank, he is also the Senior Standing Counsel to the department of Income tax, Central Board of Direct Taxes and appears at the Bombay High Court for the Department of Income Tax. In 2006 his appointment was also recommended by the Ministry of State Excise for the Bombay Prohibition Department of the State of Maharashtra. Since Chanderpal’s father owned a liquor shop and there would be a conflict of interest, he did not pursue with the completion of the appointment formalities. Chanderpal also has good knowledge of prohibition law. Recently he delivered lectures to Mumbai Police- the Economic Offences Wing of CID, on a Module to track down Economic Offenders. He was felicitated by Additional Commissioner of Police – Economic Offences Wing- Mr. Rajwardhan Sinha on 18th January 2013.

Offices

Chanderpal’s main office being at Dadar (Mumbai), he shares his Delhi office with his senior - Dr. Sumant Bharadwaj, a senior Supreme Court lawyer, who served as a junior to legendary Mr. Nani Palhivala. Mr. Chanderpal is also assisted by a team of well versed professionals such as lawyers, chartered accountancts, consultants, ex police professionals and ex- judges.

Research base

Chanderpal’s research sources from his own massive library of general and rare books that he has collected and read over the long span of his career. He owns a little more than 1400 books and believes that this is a goldmine of information that any lawyer would be proud of possessing.
